Board of Directors

BDAN is governed on a rotational basis by a twelve-man Board who are representatives of the Member Banks. The Chairman of the Board is appointed at a Chairmen of Bank’s Forum and is required to be the current Chairman of a Bank.

MUSTAFA CHIKE-OBI
Mr. Mustafa Chike-Obi

Chairman, Board of Directors, FIDELITY BANK PLC

Mr. Chike-Obi was appointed Chairman of the Board of Fidelity Bank Plc in July 2020. Prior to his appointment, he served as Executive Chairman at Alpha African Advisory.

He has held several managerial and leadership positions in reputable global investment banking and asset management firms such as Chase Merchant Bank, Goldman Sachs, Shoreline Group, Bear Stearns and Guggenheim Partner, amongst others, where he acquired a broad knowledge base in capital market operations in both mature and emerging markets. This includes the development and marketing of fixed income securities products to institutional investors. It is also noteworthy that he created the Treasury Department concept in Nigerian Banking and headed the first one.

Mr. Chike-Obi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford School of Business, California, USA. He seats on the boards of several blue-chip companies.

He was appointed Chairman of the Association following a unanimous decision at the Chairmen of Banks’ Forum held in June 2021 and commenced his tenure in August 2021. 

Chizoma Okoli
Mrs. Chizoma Okoli

Deputy Managing Director, ACCESS BANK PLC

Mrs. Chizoma Okoli is the Deputy Managing Director, Retail South, Access Bank Plc.  She is a seasoned professional with approximately three (3) decades of robust banking experience. She commenced her professional career in 1992 as an Executive Trainee in the defunct Diamond Bank Plc where she distinguished herself and rapidly rose through the ranks to become an Executive Director in 2016. Following Access Bank’s merger with the defunct Diamond Bank in 2019, Mrs. Okoli was appointed Executive Director, Business Banking Division by the Bank.

Her robust experience cuts across commercial and consumer banking; corporate banking; branch banking, institutional banking, business banking and business development.

She obtained a Bachelor of Law degree from University of Benin, Nigeria and a Masters in Business Administration from Warwick Business School, United Kingdom. She is an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and a Member of the Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria.

Mrs. Okoli has attended various courses in Nigeria and abroad including the Advanced Management Programme of Wharton Executive Education, University of Pennsylvania, and the Senior Management Programme of the Lagos Business School.

Dr. (Mrs) Oluwayemisi Olorunshola

Chairman, Board of Directors, WEMA BANK PLC

Dr. (Mrs) Oluwayemisi Olorunshola is the Chairman, Board of Directors of Wema Bank Plc. She is an experienced Supply Chain professional and a business associate with over 15 years’ experience in a multinational organisation and over 10 years as a business manager.

She possesses a B.Sc. Education degree in Education & Economics from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Liverpool, UK, and a Doctorate degree in Business Administration from Walden University, USA.

She is a well-trained professional in various aspects of business management and her work experience spans every aspect of the supply chain including Business & Production Planning procurement, Distribution, Import & Export, and Logistics Services. She is a lover of education and her widely read publication on small business sustainability strategies was published in the Journal of Functional Education (JFEAcademia), Proguest. com, and Academia.edu, and has been referenced by many scholars.

Dr. Olorunshola is a Fellow of the International Institute for African Scholars and a Chartered Member of the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Personnel Management. An ardent believer in community development and in pursuant of this interest, she is a volunteer in many civic activities where she has contributed greatly to the development of her community and other areas of influence. 

Chuks Emma Okoh
Mr. Chuks Emma Okoh

Non-Executive Director, ZENITH BANK PLC

Mr. Chuks Emma Okoh graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, (BSc) in 1987 with several academic laurels to his credit including the overall best graduating student in Accounting.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) with over thirty (30) years cognate experience in the Banking industry & Telecommunications sector.

Mr. Okoh has varied experience spanning the areas of Finance, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, Operations & Strategic Management. He has distinguished himself in various leadership roles and is a recipient of several “Service Excellence” & “Exceptional Performance” Awards from both the financial services sector and the telecommunications sector.

He comes with deep insight and varied experience spanning the areas of Finance, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, Operations & Strategic Management. He has distinguished himself in various leadership roles and is a recipient of several Service Excellence & Exceptional Performance awards from the financial services sector and the telecommunications sector.

Mr. Okoh has attended various management development programmes at renowned educational Institutions including Cranfield University School of Management, UK and INSEAD, France.

He is an Alumnus of the prestigious Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, USA and Lagos Business School, Nigeria. 

Alhaji Mohammed Datti Yola

Non-Executive Director, SUNTRUST BANK LIMITED

Alhaji Mohammed Datti Yola is a retired General Manager of the National Pension Commission (PenCom) and the pioneer Head of the Surveillance Department.

He was a regulator for most of his over 35 years professional career. He started with the Central Bank of Nigeria where he rose to the rank of a Senior Bank Examiner before a brief sojourn with United Bank for Africa Plc and Habib Nigeria Bank Limited where he served as Senior Manager and Financial Controller, respectively.

He is also a Certified Director of the INSEAD Business School, Paris and has attended several leadership courses over the last two decades in top Business Schools in the United States such as Columbia University, Darden Business School, University of Virginia, Chicago Booth, University of Chicago and Kellog Business School, Northwestern University, Chicago.

His expertise is mainly in Financial Regulation and Supervision, Contributory Pension Scheme and its regulation and supervision, Financial Accounting, leadership programmes and global best practice in running a company’s Board and has been a facilitator for both CBN Bank Examiners and Pension Examiners Programmes at the Central Bank of Nigeria and the National Pension Commission as well as being a Director of Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) up to his retirement from Pencom.

Alhaji Datti is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holds a degree in Accounting and an MBA both from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. 

Ms. Angela Aneke

Non-Executive Director, UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA PLC

Ms. Angela Aneke is a board advisor, banker and strategic thinker with over 30 years’ experience in financial services, in the areas of Financial Control, Strategy, Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking and Governance.

Ms. Aneke has held executive management and board positions in several international and regional institutions, including Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, Citigroup and the United Bank for Africa.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The American University, Washington DC, USA and became an International Associate of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 1985. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, UK. She has attended several courses in banking and governance including Harvard Business School’s “Making Corporate Boards More Effective.” 

Mrs. Yetunde Ogunremi

Executive Director, RAND MERCHANT BANK NIGERIA LIMITED

Mrs. Yetunde Ogunremi is a qualified finance professional with a demonstrated track record spanning over 21 years in the financial services sector.

She is currently the Head, Balance Sheet Management and Treasurer of Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria Limited with primary responsibility for managing risks associated with capital, liquidity and market risk in the banking book.

Prior to joining Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria Limited in March 2018, Mrs. Ogunremi spent over 11 years working in various financial roles in Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC, which she joined in July 2006. She worked as the Asset & Liability Manager (ALM) of the legacy Stanbic Bank Nigeria Limited and was subsequently responsible for establishing a more robust ALM function upon the merger with IBTC Chartered Bank Limited in September 2007. She was appointed Country Treasurer in July 2015 and was later appointed Head Interest Rate Sales within the Global Markets section of the bank in April 2017.

She is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) with a first degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos. She also holds a Dealing Certificate from the ACI Financial Markets Association (ACIFMA) and has attended several training/developmental programs and courses both locally and internationally.

Mr. Kogis Jonathan Luka

Non-Executive Director, TAJ BANK LIMITED

Mr. Kogis Jonathan Luka is a seasoned financial markets expert with over two decade’s professional experience particularly in the Capital Market.

He is a fellow of several professional institutions, such as the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) and an Associate of other professional bodies including the Certified Pensions Institute of Nigeria (CPIN), the Institute of Capital Market Registrars (ICMR) and the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN). He is a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration in 1989. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Nassarawa State University, Keffi.

He has participated in various courses in diverse aspects of investment management, organisational change and accounting in Nigeria, South Africa and the United Kingdom. He has presented many papers on various aspects of investment banking and the Capital Market.

Mr. Kogis, along with various teams, has provided visionary leadership in designing and implementing operational structures and systems that have exceeded set objectives especially in restructuring & the critical start-up stages. He was involved in the setting up of Tower Assets Management Ltd (a stockbroking firm), First Alliance Pensions and Benefits Limited, where he served as the Chairman, Audit/Risk Management Committee.

Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Kwairanga

Alhaji Umaru Kwairanga (Sarkin Fulanin Gombe) holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Business Administration; MBA from the University of Maiduguri and M.Sc Finance & Governance from Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, United Kingdom. He is a fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD), Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria (CPIN) and Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria. He is on the Board of Jaiz Bank Plc, Lafarge Cement Africa Plc., Axa Mansard Pensions, Finmal Finance Services Ltd (MD/CEO), Waila Microfinance Bank Ltd., Gombe Microfinance Bank Ltd., First Bank of Nigeria Mortgage Bank Ltd., Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO).

He is the Chairman of the Nigerian Group Exchange (NGX) and is on the Council of the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria (President) and Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

He is a Professional Certificate holder of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria and the Abuja Securities and Commodity Exchange. He was a member of the Nigerian Vision 20:2020, National Technical Working Group (NTWG) on Public sector Thematic Area. He is a well-travelled executive with extensive senior level management experience and impeccable ethics and integrity. He was recently conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree by Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria. 

Mrs. Funke Feyisitan-Ladimeji

Executive Director, CORONATION MERCHANT BANK LTD

Mrs. Funke Feyisitan-Ladimeji is the Executive Director at Coronation Merchant Bank Limited.

She is a uniquely skilled and experienced Investment Banking Executive, with a global career spanning Banking businesses, across Markets and Corporate Finance, across multiple jurisdictions in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), North America and Asia, across multiple asset classes (including debt, equity and the range of assets between debt and equity, as well as derivatives) and across multiple functional areas, including Financial Control, Complex Product Accounting, Technology, Business Operations and Human Capital.

Mrs. Ladimeji spent 14 years at JP Morgan Chase where she was an Executive Director with global responsibilities managing businesses across multiple jurisdictions. Prior to joining Coronation Merchant Bank, she was a Director and Chief Operating Officer at FBNQuest Merchant Bank Group where she oversaw a period of radical revolution that grew the balance sheet and massively increased revenues with two key acquisitions and evolution in technology and business culture.

She has led several M & A transactions, including JPMorgan Chase acquisition of Cazenove; JPMorgan Chase acquisition of Bear Sterns; JPMorgan Chase acquisition of Bank One; Chase and JPMorgan combination; FBN Holdings acquisition of Kakawa Discount House; the combination of five legal entities following the restructuring of the FBN Group.

Mrs. Ladimeji is the Chairman of the Association of Professional Women Bankers of Nigeria, a member of WIMBIZ (Women in Management and Business) mentoring programme, a member of Amazon professionals a network of cross-sector professional women in Nigeria, she mentors new entrants and incumbents in the Financial Services and in other sectors.

Mrs. Ladimeji is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales and holds a Masters degree in Globalisation and a Bachelors degree in Economics from Queen Mary and Brunel Universities respectively. 

Dayo Omolokun
Mr. Dayo Omolokun

Executive Director, STANDARD CHARTERED BANK OF NIG. LTD.

Mr. Dayo Omolokun is the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, Standard Chartered Bank of Nigeria Limited. He is responsible for leading the Finance function in Nigeria. As an organisational leader and key member of senior management, he balances the responsibilities of stewardship with business partnership; constantly improving shareholder value through strategy execution and business risks mitigation. He also manages investor and key regulatory relationships.

Mr. Omolokun is a seasoned finance and banking professional with over two decades of multi-functional and international experience in Africa, Middle East and UK markets. In his immediate past role as Director of Financial Integration and Change Management at Atlas Mara, he managed aspects of the organisation’s strategy to achieve growth through mergers and acquisitions. Prior to this, he worked for Standard Chartered in various roles in Nigeria, UK, Botswana and Ghana, during which he made specific contributions to the growth of the business as Country Chief Financial Officer and executed a global acquisition and integration project at the Group Head Office. He has also been an Independent Consultant to African Development Bank on Non-Sovereign Operations (private sector investments). He trained with Arthur Andersen Nigeria (now KPMG Professional Services) rising to the position of Audit and Business Advisory Manager.

Mr. Omolokun earned an Executive MBA from Cass Business School, City, University of London (UK), and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (Nigeria). He possesses chartered accounting and tax qualifications. He is married with children.
